The discussion will explore Thailand’s flood management, climate-induced migration as both a challenge and an adaptation strategy, highlighting lessons from Thailand that can inform more inclusive and evidence-based policies for addressing climate mobility.

The Migrant Workers’ Real Costs and Debts in Thailand

The percentage of overcharged cases by recipients of registration fees. 79% of migrant workers were overcharged in completing the registration process, having to pay more than 10,000 Baht ($303 USD), instead of 8,480-8,680 Baht ($257-263 USD), as prescribed by the government.
