Bangkok, 20 February 2026 – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Thailand, in collaboration with Social Lab – Migration in Media, co-organised a stakeholder consultation and validation seminar to launch a new e-learning course on migration journalism. Social Lab is a joint initiative involving Mahidol Migration Center – Joint Research Unit (MMC-JRU), Chulalongkorn University, and Hanyang University.

The course aims to strengthen ethical, balanced, and evidence-based reporting on migration in Thailand. The seminar brought together journalists, academics, and representatives from government and civil society to review and validate the curriculum.

Developed through ongoing collaboration since 2023, the programme builds on prior training efforts that have enhanced migration reporting across the country. The course offers practical modules on migration concepts, ethical considerations, and reporting on vulnerable populations in the Thai context.

It will be available online free of charge in Thai and English, supporting more informed public discourse on migration.
