We’re Migrants! Citizen Journalism Training | Call Closed

 Mahidol Migration Center (MMC) at Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, in collaboration with  International Organization for Migration (IOM) Thailand and  Labour Rights Foundation ( LRF), invites applications for a training on “We’re Migrants! Citizen Journalism Training.”

This training aims to equip Myanmar migrant youth with the tools, ethical frameworks, and platforms to tell migration stories that are both engaging and responsible.

The training will be conducted as a two-day interactive workshop designed for  Myanmar migrant youth, NGOs staff, students currently living and working in Samut Sakhon Province who are interested in migration journalism, fact-checking, and storytelling. Preference will be given to applicants who are active content creators or volunteers within community networks and migrant working groups.

12-15 participants will be selected to join the training in person. Meals will be provided during the sessions, and the training is free of charge.  Applications are open until 28 February, 2026, 12:00 PM (Bangkok time).

Through this training, participants will gain fundamental media literacy and storytelling skills, enabling them to document and share their lived experiences, highlight challenges and solutions, and contribute to more inclusive journalism. The training also aims to promote better understanding and social harmony between migrant communities and host societies in Thailand.
